The main Faculty website, http://www.orinst.ox.ac.uk, has moved into a content management system (CMS). The move will make it easier to maintain and should open up new possibilities to develop the website further.
The PCs in the Institute for Chinese Studies language lab have been replaced with brand new computers.
The computers in the Oriental Institute language lab have been replaced with brand new computers. The replacement of the ageing computers was made possible by a grant from the James Mew Fund.
There is now a new back end system controlling the lecture lists that appear on the Faulty website. This system adds a number of new benefits including an easier method of editing the details of a lecture, and adds the ability to add a subject groups lecture list to the calendar of any email client or calendar software that supports iCalendar format. A new blogging service for members of the Faculty of the Studies has been launched. This service allows Faculty members to create and publish their own blog while having the infrastructure managed by the Faculty.
